This part of the meeting about Digital IDs should concern everyone, and I’m surprised it didn’t get more media attention.
Sen. JD Ford asked the BMV’s general counsel about a previous meeting where he was asked to sign an NDA with one of the BMV’s vendors.
The answer was yes.
• The BMV says it can’t disclose who the current or potential vendor is
• The vendor is involved in the marketing and rollout plan
• The BMV isn’t ready to announce the partner because the announcement isn’t entirely up to them
We’ve already seen elected officials sign NDAs surrounding data center projects.
Now we’re seeing the same kind of secrecy around a state Digital ID vendor.
Why are elected officials being asked to sign NDAs over major government initiatives that will directly affect Hoosiers?
