Indiana used to be the Crossroads of America.
Now it’s starting to look like the crossroads of Punjab.
Gas stations, convenience stores, and “exclusive business deals” in Plymouth, Rushville, Daleville, Downtown Indy, and Lafayette are being marketed by Mirjas Investments Inc. with a Sikh broker front and center. The original post asked the obvious question: will they even sell or lease to someone who isn’t from their own community?
This isn’t “diversity.” It’s ethnic networking and capital concentration in critical local businesses while ordinary Hoosiers get priced out or shut out. America 1st means American ownership of the local economy, gas stations, grocery stores, and main-street retail, not turning Indiana into an overseas franchise map.
If the pattern continues, “Hoosier” will just be a branding label on property controlled by people whose primary loyalty isn’t to Indiana or the United States.
