Former USCIS Senior Immigration Services Officer Lukman Owolabi Ganiyu and associate Adeniyi Akeem Somoye were ARRESTED on federal charges of conspiring to receive illegal gratuities for a multi-year scheme to approve and expedite immigration applications in exchange for cash.
From December 2019-March 2026, Ganiyu allegedly used his official position to unlawfully process Forms I-130, I-485, I-751, and N-400 by skipping interviews, supervisory review, background checks, and other protocols, with the pair collecting hundreds of thousands of dollars from applicants.
They each face up to 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
